About Barry ZeVan
Inducted into The Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame and the Society of Montana Broadcast Legends, Barry ZeVan is an International 2006 Telly Award-winning documentary producer/writer/director and three-time Emmy nominee. Barry began his professional broadcasting career in 1943, at age five-and-a-half, as a singer and actor on KDKA radio (the world’s first commercial radio station) in his native Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Barry has acted, produced, written and directed for and with the world’s most celebrated stars and celebrities, on Broadway, in local and regional theater, national tours, national television and major motion pictures, the latest portraying an Elder in the Coen brothers recent film, A SERIOUS MAN.  Barry is currently Second Vice President of SAG-AFTRA, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, Twin Cities Local. His personal and professional life history with major entertainment figures and world leaders as friends and co-workers is almost unmatched. With the permission of longtime friend, actor/comedian Jerry Stiller, Barry’s autobiography, to be published later this year, is entitled THANK YOU, JERRY STILLER. The reason for the title is Jerry’s years of urging Barry to write his incredible life story, from rags to riches and in-between, for over 70-plus years. A direct quote from Jerry, circa February, 2015: “You’re a self-made man and should be much more recognized”.
